Charter Terms and Conditions

These conditions apply specifically to Private Charter bookings.

  • We need a 25% deposit to confirm your reservation.

    This will be credited to your account. If we are unable to operate, due to bad weather a full refund will be made.

    The balance of payment, based on the total flying time is made on the day.

  • For safety, helicopter loads are strictly managed around weight.

    We work on a maximum of 1 guide plus 4 guests. Helicopter weight restrictions may limit numbers.

  • We guarantee a full refund of your deposit if your cancellation is received 48 hours, or more, prior to your heliski date.

    Cancellations should be made by phone, email, or in person. If emailing please ensure you give us plenty of prior warning.

    There is no refund for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours.

    We reserve the right to cancel if the weather is not safe/suitable for the aircraft or heliskiing.

  • If the weather will not allow us to operate we will provide a full refund of your deposit.

    We encourage our guests to have some flexibility in case bad weather prevents us from operating on your first day of choice. While we will do our best to roll over reservations, we cannot guarantee this is possible, due to operational constraints.

    We reserve the right to change the duration of the ski day around changing weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control.

  • Methven Heliskiing takes place in an uncontrolled, serious high alpine environment. Skiing, snowboarding and flying in mountain areas carry a certain element of risk.

    These risks include, but are not limited to:

    • Avalanches

    • Rock or icefall

    • Falling

    • Crevasse hazard

    • Weather and other environmental hazards

    • Human-related hazards caused by participants

    • Aircraft failure

    Alpine Guides has been operating heliskiing activities since 1976. In that time we have had around 55,000 skier days.

    Since that time there have been accidents, including fatalities in our ski operations. By international heliski industry standards we have a very low accident rate.

    Anyone participating with Methven Heliskiing must understand that despite the experience and qualifications of our guides, we cannot provide a 100% guarantee of safety in this environment.

    Participants registering for our activities are required to follow their guide's instructions explicitly.
